Fluoride Application

Dental Sealants
Fissure sealants allow us to protect teeth from tooth decay. They are a transparent plastic coating which protects little grooves on the surface of the tooth or where toothbrushes cannot reach.

Child Dental Benefits Scheme
From January 1, 2014, the Federal Government introduced the Child Dental Benefits Scheme. This scheme allows for eligible children from the age of 2-17 to access up to $1000 of Medicare funds over a 2 year period to cover basic dental services. Services that receive a benefit under the Child Dental Benefits Scheme include examinations, X-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals, and extractions. You may be eligible for the scheme if you receive a government subsidy such as Family Tax Benefit Part A or a Carer’s Payment.
At Centre Street Dental, we have decided to cap the fees for children who are eligible for the scheme at the Medicare rebate. This means that there is no out of pocket expenses for the parents or carers of these children. We have come to this decision, even though the rates are considerably less than our standard fees because we believe that this scheme can be of great benefit to the dental health of the community. It also allows us the ability to educate these children and their parents about dental health and hygiene.
